The History of the Exile
The books of the old testament are not always in chronological order, especially the prophets. When you get to the prophets, they simply put the big ones first and the little ones second. The peak of their fortunes was the empire under david. Everything goes down hill from then on, until they lose the land. It's a tragic story, really, but that is why every jew looks back to that period and longs for it to come back. That was the golden age. And still to this day, the jewish people are looking for that son ofDavid to come back and restore the prosperity. Lord, send us another David. Send us a messiah like david.
