Introduction
Ecclesiastes, chapter 12 concludes the book returning to the theme of death that the preacher has explored throughout it. The verses are traditionally generally taken as a reference to the body closing down. However many commentators see a lot more here, the description of the mourning for him and then the collapse of his estate over time. This clearly continues the thread of the immediately preceding two verses. Rejoice in your youth and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth. But know that for all these things, god will bring you into judgment.
