The Challenge With Egoic Hope
Our brain is a predicting machine. So we're always predicting how things will turn out. The challenge with egoic hope is that it can be distorted by grasping or by avoiding reality and it becomes false hope. It prevents us from facing the realness of crisis and actively engaging to address them. Wise hope is not contracted by the egoic wants and fears. And it isn't about a particular outcome or prediction for the future. There's no sense of certainty. It's more an openness to possibility.
