The novel takes place in 2020, but it's obviously a very different 2020 in New York than the one that actually occurred. I started writing this book in 2018, finished the second draft in 2019. Then I was in line edits around the time I moved to New York in early 2020. In the right group of people, one could believe that people could talk that way to each other. The dialogue in this is very charming and very realistic.
