The Differences in Adaptive Responses to Training

Your sweet spot training is a sort of thing you do in a heavy domain and then you've obviously got your long slow distance training that occurs in the moderate domain. We don't know a lot about the differences in adaptive responses because, to be perfectly honest, most of the things that we've studied in the lab have been with relatively untrained people. Well, how do we apply that to athletes? That's problematic. I'm not particularly well trained at the moment my lactate threshold is probably hovering around 100 watts. If you're a Chris Froome, it's going to be hovering around 300 watts. It will make a really big difference to the way in which you would approach training
