A dog can be a mayor in the US, actually. A town called Cormoront, Minnesota, where for three consecutive terms a dog named Duke has been elected mayor. The township has 1,039 people and if you are that many people, you can be ruled by a dog. Dr Callett is also currently making the rounds on another political loophole that recently came up.
