The State's Role in AI Development
I think the state has to be the primary vehicle for managing this. Even some companies who deploy AI for good or for even neutral ends could end up doing incidental harm too. We're unwittingly or semi-wittingly part of the AI development process because we are generating data that is then used to iterate. If we could spend a little bit more time as a collective entity thinking about our role in sort of incidentally building this thing without even thinking about it, I think that would go a long way to producing better AI.
