Is There a Need for a Batch OLAP Warehouse?
Olap is making queries of data that doesn't change very often. It allows you to have OLAP views kept up to date at OLTP timescales. This doesn't eliminate the need for an OLAP warehouse because when you're slicing and dicing data, you actually don't want the data to change. So a batch OLAP warehouse is not something that's going to go away.
