The Implications of Hospital Physician Integration Among Cardiologists
Dr. Brady Post: We heard that the rates of some fairly invasive procedures are notably higher. He says a good measure would be among patients who didn't receive a positive stress test, did they still go on and get a catheterization? But very few of those patients would actually go on to get an angioplasty because if there are conditions when one warrants it, he says. The results were more favorable to independent physicians in this case than integrated doctors.
