The First Republic of Venezuela

In march of 18 12, that is just as the karacas earthquake was dooming the first venezuelan republic. President norino despatched a small army to go subdue the federalists in tunha and bring it under bogota's authority. But spoiler alert, norino is not going to succeed. Pretty soon that army norino had sent had turned around and was marching back towards bogota. And this little patriotic civil war was, of course, very bad for the larger republican because royalist forces, though still loyal to god and the king, took advantage of the situation an as we'll see in a moment.
