God Alone Is the Subject in the Old Testament
Solomon says, listen to the plea of your servant and the people of israel when they pray towards this place. Listen in heaven and your dwelling place. When you hear forgive, solomon is acknowledging that the prayer that you're going to hear most commonly is a confession of sin and a request to be forgiven of that sin. It's this idea that god alone, salo in the old testament, he's the only one who can forgive. And jesus, as it were, says, yea, you're righta. So guess who i amya, ya, i am. I am the god who forgives. I'm the god who salacs.
