Is There a Spectrum of Mental Illness?
i would feel sometimes real discomfort with this idea that addiction exists on a spectrum, and it's also not that different from other kinds of mental illness. There was an element of your book that really challenged am, that challenged that notion of the human desire to kind of reach for firmness. I think there's probably something there in termsf ik how well our diagnostic systems actually line up with governing ideas about mental suffering.
