What the System Is Meant to Be?
The software industry is really a it's people work, more so than thing work. We have this higher level conception of the system, which we really think of as the real system. And you can find parts of the system that just don't feel quite concurrent and they're not fitting together properly. The program exists in the minds of all the people designing it, right? Even in our slang, we'll say things like "It feels like that part of the system wants to be doing this"
