The Strength of Weak Ties

In 1974, a guy called Mark Granov Vetta produced a thesis really called the strength of weak ties. This was done a long time ago and obviously the worlds are very different place now. A team of researchers from LinkedIn, Harvard and Stanford and MIT set out to gather some empirical evidence to show how weak ties affect job mobility. The research piggybacked on the efforts of engineers at LinkedIn to test and improve the platforms.
