Anxiety Is Not Without an Object
The overwhelming enveloping smothering presence of some parent leaves no space, no room, no opening or gap in which a kid can be a kid. Lacan himself admits that this is a pretty difficult topic. People ask him, what is the object of anxiety? Because we've heard from Sartre, Heidegger, and others that anxiety means having no object. Anxiety though doesn't have one.
