How Do I Sell You on My Idea?
A theatre mirrors the classical repertoire, because very often you're doing a revival of classic material. The director's task is to sell them a clear sense of what the film is they want to make. One of the most fundamental choices that any performer has to make is the choice of tempo. A great conductor can make a very slow movement so compelling that it doesn't feel like it never ends. And sometimes an inexperienced conductor or a less talented conductor can do it even a little bit faster and it feels like it never ending.
