The Stoic Approach to Anger

The stoics believe that we'll carry on molding it in the negative direction if we're not careful is just to keep magnifying it dwelling on it drawing it out and exaggerating it whereas with training we can learn to do the opposite. In cognitive therapy there's this voluntary stage that occurs where we intervene and say okay let's just start responding differently to this initial flash of anger or anxiety so what started off as an automatic reflex right like reaction has kind of been handed over to us.
