Sally Kohn: We live in this sympathetic charge state for most of the day. But some people are just natural mouth beavers, she says. She tries breathing through her nose and taping her mouth shut at night to get more restful sleep. The tape doesn't rip your lips off when you remove it but there's no evidence that it helps with sleep apnea or narcolepsy. Salyers: I'm not an expert in this, but I've found great benefit. It can be really uncomfortable for people at first if they haven't done it before. When you have kids, everybody gets all over it because it's a little scary during the day.
