Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller became the first freelance production team ever in the US. The Robins continued recording for a few years, but stopped having hits. Karl Gardner and Bobby Numb were now part of Lieber, Stoller and Sill's new project with Atco. To add insult to injury, many of the Robins' last few singles on Spark were included on the first album by their new group, The Coasters. They went on to record Riot in Cell Block No. 9 and Smokey Joe's Cafe at Atlantic Records.
