There are very, very few keys that have become standard across many, many applications. It boils down to around about five or six or so functions that have become reasonably standard. The first suggestion that comes up is always, well, we'll use the cursor keys. That's a conflict with scroll and all your wheel and mouse would do it, too. If you pick this ball up and ran with it, it would become a standard.
