In the last decade, we've really seen the political salience of arms transfers and responsible security cooperation grow substantially. Over years, this type of thinking was not very common in the US government but there is evidence that some of that might be changing. We need to ask ourselves if the benefits of this relationship with Saudi Arabia is worth the costs, if this kind of behavior continues.
