Tolkien and the Man Who Planted Trees

I discovered Tolkien by reading The Lord of the Rings to my sons when they were quite small. I came across in Tree and Leaf with Tolkien's essay on fairy stories just tucked away at the back. When I was working on my novel which I failed to finish put aside until I was persuaded by friends to go on. So I did brought it out and then thought of course Leaf by Nagel that's about the man who couldn't finish his work of art. Exactly. Because he kept on putting extra bits on to it didn't have the boundaries didn't put a frame on it you know and he was never going to finish it. so I thought I mustn't be that person.
