You Shouldn't Feel Bad, but Move Me Too Quick
I once had a client I was working with who had a lot of body shame and his group therapist had come up with a brilliant idea, excuse me, but of everybody in the group to look at the guy and tell them something that they find attractive about them. And then he didn't feel better afterwards. So what would have helped is for each person to say, well, you feel ugly. You know, people tell me I'm smart, but I feel stupid or I hate my nose or everybody shared the shame. That's the joining. It's not head padding. It's actually really, really hard to do, but the most powerful.
