Owls and Snakes: A Beneficial Relationship

One in five nests of Eastern screech owls contains live snakes, which the parents bring back as food for the chicks. The presence of the snakes benefits the owl chicks, helping them grow bigger and healthier compared to chicks in nests without snakes.
