Alexander the great was poisoned by his cup bearer, a man called eolas i o l a s. Eolas father was antipater, one of the old guard in charge of macedonian viceroy. The story goes that antipater sent a terrible poison to babylon, carried by another of his sons cassander. Cassander gave it to yolas, and yolas subsequently administered the poison to alexander's drink. days later, on the eleventh june, alexander thegreat died.
