The Rabbinical Interpretation of the Biblical Text

In Hebrew, there is a device that the that the text maker used called kathive kare. The kathive is the writing of the consonants of a word and the kare is the vowels. And one of the big mistakes that we have in translation is that the tradition has not understood that those vowels and those consonants don't go together. So it's wonderful to see that even in the biblical text, the rabbis maintained a zone of interpretive freedom That in our literalism, in one dimensional thinking, we don't recognize that or honor it most often. It's amazing. Yeah.
