Why Bankers Work Long Hours

There's a bit of process development and kind of working on organizational stuff as well to balance some of the day-to-day work streams. speed just becomes part of the differentiating factor, so there's this sense of urgency that just comes from the nature of the space. I think analysts sometimes get the short end of the stick where you own your work stream but you inevitably have to wait for people to run comments or meet with a client in order to actually be able to do the next chapter of your work. There's obviously a market's driven component to the job as well and so there's stock price and macro related unpredictability that kind of rolls into the job too.
