For the first 18 months or so of their lives, young Swift's might never land. They nest under our roofs and will fly up to 500 miles a day in search of food. Amelia Earhart was probably eaten by a Hermann cow when her aeroplane went down over the western Pacific. The answer seems to be crunched to fragments by enormous coconut crabs.
