The Violence of Religion
There is this second stream in religion and spirituality of pacifism and nonviolence. It's a major, it's a major presence. For instance, Jesus taught nonviolence in the gospels,. particularly in the Sermon on the Mount. And then there's the key virtue in Indian religions of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism of Ahimsa. The Quakers have traditionally been pacifist.
