Seneca gained much of his wealth by working as writer tutor for the roman emperor nero. He also charged loans with with high interest rates. Seneca's is one where he says, look, money and happiness don't have to be that closely related. In the end, unfortunately, i think seneca had to conclude that he had, he had to be able t to justify that that disconnect by essentially committing suicide.
