The value of objectivity is expressed exactly that. It's about perception and not even about the practice. The choice of which stories a journalist is vering at all is already going to involve some partiality. Even with the best intentions, no news outlet can cover everything that's happening. And so sometimes that cuts directly against what is true or what we actually observe happening in the world.
