The Importance of Understanding Rawls
Lewin: Rawls to me seemed, I was very dismissive at first because this idea that everything in Rawls's method is based on the social contract. When you read him as an undergraduate who doesn't really know a lot about the world of philosophy, he comes across as someone who's just synthesizing some very basic ideas and makes them very plain and accessible. Lewin: He can be a bit off-putting for someone who's studying philosophy because they're interested in difficult subjects.
