The War of Independence in Copenhagen

By 1787, a strong movement for independence and a new constitution was growing in Belgium. In the debates that were provoked in Europe, we can see how the shot was heard. As early as October 22, 1776, AP Burnstorf wrote to a friend: "The public here is extremely occupied with the rebels in America" The poison has seeped imperceptibly from the works of the phyllosophs, all the way out to the village schools.
