How to Make a Game That Succeeds

I feel like the solution to any game design conundrum that you have is come up with a bunch of ideas and then do the easiest one. I'm not convinced there are that many power-ups that you wouldn't have to create a game mechanic in order to supply, if that makes sense. Just kind of goes back to the thing we were saying earlier, which is that we kind of put in every power-up that was possible to put into the game without creating a different mechanic. And it's often, in my experience, better just to make something that functions and works rather than make the ideal correct thing.
