The Evolution of Constantine's Mindset

There's good independent evidence for Constantine favoring the church from very soon after his victory at the Millian Bridge in 312. In a letter to the Persian King Sarpur, he writes about this god-eye reverence. He also talks about himself as a bishop of those outside the church. So I think you see a development over his lifetime that I personally find quite convincing and he does have some good phrases.
