The Evolution of Carnivorous Plants

In some species, including Nepenthes, low EI, they have both a terrestrial form and an aerial form. And it's different by the age of the plant. Once older, the pitchers change structure and they don't attract invertebrates at all. So this is not a strategy that has taken thousands of plants over tens of thousands of years to develop. It could still be about nitrogen or not. I'm just agnostic about that until, you know, until that research exists.
