Marbury v. Marshal

Marshall realized that jeffers ond his republicans could denude the supreme court of authority. He was also concerned that he not be seen as protecting the interests of a federalist jurist like marbury, who had been hearing cases and issuing judgments for a year. Although jefferson is claimed by bynan demo democrats as the father of their political party, he was a leading opponent of judicial activism. And so the doctrine of judicial review was born.
