Tesco and suppliers are exploring electrical stunning as a less cruel way of slaughtering shrimp on a large scale. The technology requires for the animals to come out of the water, then they're put in a conveyor belt of sorts. And then there are a couple of electrodes that touch the animals as they go through. It electrocutes them and renders them unconscious. I think there's a very good chance that this is a better alternative than what happens today.
