The Commons of Centrality in Berlin

chapter three focuses on Berlin during the Bimer Republic and to focus on what I call the commons of centrality. It shows how working-class communities manage to create conditions of civil centrality both in the city core in Berlin and in the outskirts. And then I explore how the municipality during this period in the 1920s, mostly, how the municipality, a certain center left coalition, strive to impose a more conventional, segregated urban hierarchy.
