Is There a Need for Representation in a Population Level View?
The modern dynamical manifold type computational approach is, you would argue, as our best bet toward a brain based explanation of how those higher level representations occur. But just to be clear, right? I mean, a lot of the nice that's been done on population level calculations and dynamical systems have been done in motor cortex. It may well be that some version of that in the pre frontal cortex will do the requisite job. One has this is just a stepping stone. We just have a feeling that that's going to be the form of neural data which will get us there.
