The Importance of David Whitmer in the Production of the Book of Mormon
David Whitmer was one of the three witnesses to Joseph Smith's early revelations. He says they were printed in 1833 and then all of a sudden, Joseph Smith realizes that he's contradicting them with what he's teaching out after 1833. In order to fix that, you have to retrofit that back into your history,. And in this case, not only are you changing your history as we talked about with like say the first vision, they're actually altering what are claimed to be the words of God.
