In 2002, Dow Corning CEO Gary Anderson asked the executive Don Sheets to go and cannibalize the business in some way. He set up an experimental war game to test how existing staff and systems would react to the requirements of the new customer value proposition. It became clear that the corporate antibodies would kill the initiative before it got off the ground. But luckily, this is a success story.
