Women in Economics - What Are You Doing?

When I started in economics about 30% of PhD students were women. Now it's, what is it? You know, 30 years later and those percentages are kind of the same. Every year at the Chicago Fed, we have usually three summer fellows who are women. The other thing that I've really seen a change in over my career is when I first came to the Chicago Fed,. We mostly just hired from our local universities. And so that's something that's mature.
