Is There a Barrier to Wearable Technology?

The barrier to widespread adoption of vr has traditionally been the hardware, hasn't it? The clunky headsets and the computer power needed to run them. Are we getting any closer to getting over that boundary? Do you think they are? There is still a barrier to climb, because a lot of people still don't like being in v. But i think with wearable technology and with devices like phones that you can hold up and interact with the real world with digital content in it,. I think that's going to be the real turning point in the future where it will widespread.
