How to Be a Successful Lead Investor

A lead investor is the one who proposes the terms or negotiates or finalizes the term sheet with you. They're taking a substantial risk, and I respect the hell out of the people that don't just follow. Some funds will tell you off the bat in the first five minutes: We do not lead. And others are like we only lead rounds because their strategy is to capture as much ownership as possible in startups that they're funding.
