Using Grid Storage to Recycle Vehicle Batteries
The US Forestry Service has been recycling Nissan Leaf batteries for quite a while to power remote ranger stations. Even after a battery no longer meets the needs of a car, it can still store enough energy to be useful on the electric grid. My imagine is that I should someday be able to recover some of the value of a vehicle battery pack by them being re-manufactured into municipal battery storage or maybe even bringing being reconfigured into a residential battery system.
