OA760: Trump's Arraignment - Judge Aileen Cannon Returns to the Scene of the Crime (feat. Mitchell Epner)

Opening Arguments

CHAPTER

The Supreme Court's Rule 29 Motion for Acquittal

The defense will, as is standard operating procedure, make a rule 29 motion for acquittal saying that the government has not met their prima facia case of proving some evidence on each of the elements. Judge Cannon could mind her P's and Qs so that she doesn't get taken up on appeal by the 11th circuit. The Supreme Court has spoken on this in a case from 1977. It is established law. And Donald Trump then goes off to do whatever he wants next, but it won't be going to jail.
