The Limits of Space Telescope Sensitivity
In theory, this method could catch the planets that those other techniques would miss. If we have sufficient sensitivity, there'll be some distance limit beyond which will only pick up particularly bright emitters or maybe a mission when a CME hits a planet. The real limiting factor is going to be data transport and getting it back to back to earth.
