The Discriminatory Move to Provide Doctors in Rural Areas
The idea to have a shorter course for doctors to serve in rural areas is not new. In 2010 as well the central government had proposed a similar course. However there have been calls calling it a discriminatory move because we are then providing lesser qualified practitioners for rural populations and more qualified practitioners in urban settings. Dr Suda: "Health awareness amongst the rural population of India today is not very good"
