Is the US the Loser in a Confrontation Out of Space?
Baddusi: We're entering a dangerous position. A slight miscalculation, a blip on a radar screen could perhaps set off an escalation ladder leading up to nuclear warfare and the electromagnetic pulse. And that's the danger that is destabilizing. Conventional wars take place over weeks, months, years. A conflict in outer space takes place over minutes,. where the pressure is on to strike first, to escalate perhaps a nuclear weapons. The Russians, the Chinese, the United States, we're all working on hypersonic weapons.
